I have AVG do a scan daily

you should get a good AV like Avira Avast or Microsoft Security essentials. AVG performs poorly in virus detection tests of late and the number of posts appearing along the lines of "I've got AVG and now have this nasty virus" are testament to that

Reboot and keep pressing F8 to get into SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING then

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/

Open malwarebytes and go to UPDATE and click 'check for updates'
After its updated go to SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN

Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

The scan will take a while, it had been running for over an hour before I restarted into safe mode, downloaded new version, now waiting for it to restart again in safe mode so I can update it and start again. Using my phone for MSE so might be slow to respond, have to leave for college in an hour so may have to try and fix it tomorrow, will get all the updates and programs I need on my USB stick and hopefully be able to fix it in the morning if I can't do it now (so long as my 2 at home haven't been infected as well! They had the same 'installing 1 of 2 updates' before shutting down last night as this PC did)

Swapping between PC and phone for MSE now, while it is working
