Rhubarb is also very close, which seems to get very good reviews on TripAdvisor.

I would avoid the restaurants on the top floor of the Victoria Square, they are never busy, hence food freshness is questionable. I had a particularly bad experence in La Tasca, there was mould on a lemon which must have been kept for months.

Perhaps one or two are questionable, like La Tasca and that chinese buffet place, but for the most part I find the restaurants in Victoria Square pretty decent, particularly Pizza Express, Spur and Frankie and Benny's etc.

I was in the chinese buffet place in Victoria Square for lunch last week and it was very busy. Food was fine...plenty of choice and satisfactory quality (wouldn't be my first choice of restaurant but I was dining with colleagues who wanted to go there).

I was in Pizza Express in VS today and the quality and freshness was excellent.

I tried Nandos in Victoria Square once and really thought it was glorified fast food with a bumped up price maybe its just me.

    It's not just you.

You could try The Ginger Bistro on Little Hope Street (just off Gt Victoria St). You may struggle to get a table though on a Saturday night so book ahead if you do go. I don't think they do much for kids though unfortunately, but they do a mean fish and chips on their menu!
  • Thank you to everyone who replied to my thread with recommendations of where to eat. We ate at Nandos at lunch time which was ok, and booked Olios and ate there last night. It was fantastic food and a nice atmosphere and I would highly recommend it to anyone. First class!!!!
