My dress has a layer of net with embroidery on it and not sure what would look appropriate.. would going down the lacy route look OTT?

I am a size 8 - last night was thinking of going down the dorothy route and get some sparkly red shoes as only my toes will show :p what does everyone think ?

I personally would go for plain satin shoes, but I think that lacy shoes would look lovely with that dress if the lace is the same design - that may be just my weird OCD-ish tendencies kicking in - I don't think anyone would really notice whether the lace matched... :o

Red shoes would look stunning, especially if you tied in the colour with your bouquet.

Franny this is a fab thread!! you are a miracle worker :)

Being a self confessed google queen this is a bit awkward to ask :P but before I was a google queen I am a super shopper and my heart wants a pair of shoes that my head won't let me buy. Unfortunatley in the ensuing tussle they were discontinued so now I am panicking.

My dress doesn't cover my tootsies cause initially was going to go with white converse boots to wear under the dress - nice and comfy and wearable after the day :) however now the dress I have bought shows my tootsies I am not so keen. So am looking back now at the impossible shoes...

Hiya, I just wondered if you live anywhere near an asian area as these are a similar shape to indian slippers that come in at around £10. Most sari shops will have an entire wall of them in all different colours. They don't have the strap but are still really pretty. Just one example is at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pretty-SILVER-Indian-style-Shoes-Slippers-UK-Size-5-/320602472814?pt=Women_s_Shoes&hash=item4aa565816e Might be worth a look?

  • Franny/ladies,

I need some inspiration, my BMs have floor length charcoal dresses. They are taffeta charcoal so look silvery too. All are tall ish and want flat shoes. They are various shoe sizes. I think something like silver flat sandals with diamonte/crystal on would be good but I need some inspiration, can you help?

They are called Dainty Bess and are handmade by Diane Hassall and are £140!!!!

I would like something similar but... can I get your ladies input on if a lacy type of shoe would work? My dress has a layer of net with embroidery on it and not sure what would look appropriate.. would going down the lacy route look OTT?
