Elonex support

Elonex went into administration and has been bought by a consumables company who is not honouring the 3 year support contract that came with my Elonex Lumina. Any repairs are therefore chargable at £200 for home visit or £100 if I return it to them.
I assume since its "just" a PC I should be able to get a local company to look at it?
The problem I have is that the machine (which has been in storage for 10 weeks) was working then froze up. When I try and reboot it, whilst the lights come on and you can hear it start to boot up, there is no display and windows doesn't start up. I kept trying it having been told the cost of repairs and yesterday got an error message saying windows hadn't shut down probably and would restart with an option for 3 modes - safe + others?
It then started as normal and appeared to be working but then, after about 10 minutes froze again and wouldn't reboot. In both cases the error has occured whilst in media centre.
Any ideas / advice appreciated.

Disconnect anything you don't need.
ie just the 4 should be plugged in: power, keyboard, mouse, monitor only.
If you're feeling really adventurous, open her up, disconnect floppy and cd drives & take out any pci cards.
If you're still having problems take it to the local pc shop.
I doubt the consumables company have any interest in pcs,
judging by the prices they're charging..
At £200 for a home visit, I'd do it... and I'm in Ireland...0 -
The Lumina is a media centre all in one 32" LCD TV and PC with wireless keyboard and mouse so everything is pretty much disconnected. I guess that means opening it up.
If I disconnect these things then what?
