Boiler has a leak, what to do?

Hi
Can anyone help, 4 weeks ago my combi boiler stopped giving us hot water. I phoned a local company who service the boiler, to come and see what the problem was, they said it needed a new diverter valve which they replaced. Hot water is working fine now. After the engineer fitted the valve, the boiler started leaking. The first engineer couldn't fix the leak, so a second engineer called a few days later, he refitted the valve and thought he had resolved the problem. Just minutes after he left I checked boiler and it had statrted leaking again! Phoned the company back and they then sent a third engineer to have a look, he took valve to pieces and put back, but the boiler is still leaking. He thinks it is not the valve that needs replacing but it is the cold water inlet isolation valve!!!!! It is going to cost £256 to do work:eek:. I have already paid just over £200 to replace the diverter valve. Can anyone advise me what to do as the boiler was not leaking before they replaced the valve.
Many thanks

Hi
Not a Worcester by any chance is it?
If it were me then I would feel obliged to go back and leave it sound. with no charge.
I would also have warned you (if it's the Worcester) that this boiler is prone to this sort of behaviour.
They have the advantage here as you are the one with the leaky boiler . If you don't pay it stays leaky, unless you can make them see otherwise. Sorry.

Dig out the old bill & list the breakdown of part & labour.
& list your boiler make & model on here.Not Again0 -
Hi,
Thanks for replies. It is a Worcester 28cdi and it is 9 years old. This is the first problem we have had since it has been installed. The £256 is for supply and fit of cold water isolation valve, refit, refill and test. The bills I have already paid £58 call out charge and £177 for supplying and fitting a diverter valve.
Many thanks0 -

You need the breakdown of the £256 (how much is the part?).
I would accept paying for the part (at cost) but I would be ballsed if I would pay any labour (perhaps a token payment recognising a few minutes work). Not Again0 -
Thanks, I am going to get back in touch and ask for a breakdown, might leave it to the husband to be ballsy!0
