  • Like the o.p I am finding the cost of heating my home using gas centeral heating. I am in a small 2 bedroomed flat with 4 radiators, running the central heating for 16 hours a day was costing me about £4.50 a day so I decided to turn off the radiators in the bedroom as I presumed it would be cheaper running 2 radiators, when I checked how much it had cost me for a similar period the price had actually risen to around £5.50,this has left me bemused and frustrated at the cost of heating One's home, especially in a cold area like where I live so I now top up the heating with an electric panel heater which is costing me considerably less than the G.C.H.

Me to, ridiculous isn't it. I switched my heating off a few weeks back & invested in thermal vests & socks & wear several layers of clothes, including a hat & fingerless gloves indoors. Luckily I don't have kids at home, so can do this. Roll on spring. I'm getting a bit bored with being poor now.

hmm, one summer I had a QUARTERLY gas bill of £2 odd and after cashback I average £14 pm for both Electricity and Gas.... guess insulation and useage play a huge part

(2200 KWh Electricity, 1800 KWh Gas per annum)

How much are you paying per unit for your electricity? I take it you must be on ecomony7?

if you use a site like quidco when you switch suppliers, you can usually ge a pretty sizable amount, especially if its dual fuel.
