Hi All
Going to Paris for the first time in early September. Not sure where to stay although i have heard the latin quarter is ok.
Can anyone recommend an area or even hotels that i could look at?
looking for 3*, reasonable price, with reasonably priced food and drink nearby.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi
I have just returned from a week in Paris. We stayed in the Classics Hotel, Parc des Expositions (3*) in Mairie d'Issy.

We got a really good price from https://www.laterooms.com only paying £34 ish a night - looks like they have good prices if you can go last week in Aug, though they seem to double in sept, don't know why... you might get better prices on another site?
Although it is quite far out of Paris it is on the metro (last stop), it really doesn't take long to get into town. The hotel itself is a bit grim, though I would probably say it's average 3*. It's old and the air con's not great, but it is clean, with decent bathroom/TV etc. The area is really nice, with a few nice (cheapish) restaurants nearby (the chinese over the road is good, and the italian on the way to the supermarket), a supermarket (Monoprix) and the best Boulangerie - on the corner by the metro, can't miss it
If you do stay there DO NOT have the breakfast, it's 13 euros and horrid. Take a travel kettle to do your own drinks and go to the Boulangerie for a croissant/pain au chocolat for 1 euro each - so good!
Also beware the plastic backed undersheet on the bed - make you sweat like crazy. If you take it off and put it in the wardrobe they don't seem to care and won't put it back on again.
Hope this is helpful and hope you have a wonderful time. Let us know if you need any other tips.
Best wishes,

I'd recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
Hope that helps0 -
Just seen this deal:

wish they'd had thiat when I went!
I know it's August, not early sept, but thought I'd flag it up anyway as it looks so lovely!
