Renting property from yr2 on!

If they have a good credit history, and they have made any payments and on time - then they could get maximum student overdraft (which is interest free - and is, at least with my bank, interest free for 2 years after graduation) from their banks (They shoould be able to get between £1500-£2000 each in their 2nd year - so that's £3000-£4000), use this to pay the 6 months up front, and reduce the overdraft by the equivalent amount rent would be each month.
But they will need to be able to be organised and budget so that they do actually reduce their over draft by this amount each month.0 -
Just to check, are they both students?0

Yes they are both students - the really annoying bit is that they are engaged, they are a couple in everysense and yet they each have to pay rent on seperate rooms! So they use one as a study and the other as their bedroom. They would both rather rent a little studio flat, which would be cheaper and less hassle but they can't find a LL who will take them on as a couple

Have they looked at Unite in their University area? Many have started to have studio flats, where you can share with a partner, and would be much cheaper and easier that renting. They are not cheap, but with two people its quite reasonable ( at least in the West Country anyway!)0

Thanks for the info on Unite unfortunately they don't appear to have anything in Oxford.
