HELP : Insurance Question

Options
Hi - advice please?
A colleague went over a big pothole last weekend in his Peugot 307 '04' plate. The engineer started revving up and then he switched off due to high revving. The car has not gone since, he was towed home by the AA.
The car is now in his Insurance Co.s preferred local garage and they are doubting his story, both in terms of courtesy car and fixing his car.
Any advice would be appreciated. Also, any ideas about the high revving thing? Car wouldn't start again after that. Turning the key results in click click click....
Thx everyone.

  • Interesting. Maybe it was an underlying fault that was triggered by the jolt of going over the pot hole. In that case I can see why the insurance company wouldn't pay out as it could be mechanical failure due to degradation/wear rather than sudden damage due to an accident.

Was there any other damage apart from the engine problem?
  • No, no other damage that he knows of.
AA man was underneath car etc but nothing mentioned.

Garage phoned, car going to Peugot dealer for diagnostics.
