good points
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -

Mr_Kennedy wrote:I think it's fine this way but in no way is it perfect. I no doubt have 20 emails from this thread alone today. And only about 2 of them would have details of free screenings.
But if there are 2 threads (like Tescos/Magazines) then i will get 2/3 emails a day if that and will check them incase i forget to check the thread.
Now its easier for me to check this to see listings as i'm not going through 20+ emails every day when most of the posts are like mine now
lmfao...um Mr Kennedy...you might have to make that 50 emails from this thread alone, today;) (sorry, make that 51 including this post
:D ).
I see the problem now...I didn't know you could get an email everytime someone posted on this thread (lucky for me, huh? :rotfl: )(yup, I'm not too internet forum savvy, I admit it:p ). I just update/check this thread so I don't have the hassle of deleting unnecessary emails.
I do however want to mention the fact that this thread is what it is BECAUSE of EVERYBODYS contributions. Sure, we rant about movies we didn't like or give the thumbs up to movies we loved; we squabble about spoilers(:rotfl: ) and argue about who posted what first(:rotfl: ); but when it comes down to it, this thread comes up with some real gems that each of us scamper to share with other MSE's - and isn't that what it's all about? Thank you to all those who have been so generous with their information about free tickets!!:grouphug: and lets continue to keep up the good work!
Yeah, I know a lot of posts get duplicated, that's bound to happen (especially when the search button leaves a lot to be desired on occasion;) ) but I think that if we just skim over the posts that are of no actual interest to us/that we have already got tickets for/don't care to read/we consider waffle:p we can eventually find the posts we really want to check out. Not that tough, right?
Having said that, I too am in favour of a separate post for discussion/swaps/etc or a 2nd post that our Dave (quoia) and I can keep updated. Thanks for agreeing, Dave - you're a star!:starmod:
Right, that's my 2cents:j:j Please blow me a kiss if I have helped you.:j :j

Using gmail is pretty good as it groups all the emails, so if there was 50 today it would say (50) and just look like one email, then you can just click on the link once and delete one email.0

I agree mostly BUT ...... [RANT] (rant mode on)
If people could just hit the THANKS button if a post has been helpful to them in locating some FREE cinema tickets, then that is FAR BETTER than a post like.
"YIPPEE just got some WTC ticks for Birmingham on Wednesday"
or
"Bagged some for Southampton on 27th for Devil wears Prada"
I'm sorry but I don't actually care to know on an individual basis that someone has actually done something that I just advised them to do.
Worse still (in my opinion) is the "pleading post" - "Anyone know of any codes for Bangor? Never seem to have any near me"
(apologies to anyone in Bangor - it's not personal - just an example)
SORRY - if we know of any codes we will have ALREADY posted them. Please look for them yourself! Or would you prefer that I apply for them on your behalf, print them out, pop them in an envelope, nip off to the post office and send them to you ?
Of course you would BUT I (WE) are NOT here to do that !
If you WANT something - use the "I WANNA" forum !
As for film reviews and comments - this thread title is:
Free Cinema Tickets - PLEASE POST ALL FINDS HERE
It is NOT the "Film 2006 hosted by Jonathon Ross" appreciation society and most of us don't care. This makes the proverb "Can't see the wood for the trees" very relevant to this thread. To "just skim over the posts that are of no actual interest" means you still have to read them to discard them and if you don't look very closely you might just miss that is very relevant to aquiring some free tickets.
Regards duplicates, I know the search facility leaves a lot to be desired, but I do think most people don't even try to do a check for a previous posting before adding a "NEW entry"
Frequently there is the "Had a good look, couldn't find this anywhere so this MUST be a NEW ONE" type post, not only on this thread but many other threads & forums. It could be something like "New seefilmfirst code for film xyz - try 99999"
Sadly going to the SEARCH box and entering 99999 finds the "Had a good look, couldn't find this anywhere" post immediately and YES it was posted earlier today or yesterday.
[/RANT]
HOPEFULLY 2 threads will make this a lot better !

lmfao Dave ...you kill me :rotfl: and I have to agree with everything you said!!!!
<can I just say, in all seriousness, I liked your rant>
Hopefully everyone reads it and gets the hint....but yeah, nonetheless, we need some sort of discipline when posting about tickets and thus 2 threads is the only solution.:j:j Please blow me a kiss if I have helped you.:j :j
