We went to see The History Boys at the Trafford Centre, Manchester today and the cinema was almost full . I think this is the first time I've been to a preview that had more than a dozen people in it!

    By the way.
I also ASK at places to see if they offer discounts/reductions/FREE entry to carers, and flash the CEA card.
Many places don't specifically advertise a special rate, but most are clued up to it, and I've had free or reduced rates at places like the Sea-life centres, theme parks and even small 'local' wildlife centres.
I know it can be embarrasing, esp the first time - but the card ( although it doesn't give much detail) is often enough to show you are a 'carer' in an official capacity as such.
Sorry to people for going off topic - there are some specialist threads about benfits etc which might be worth you checking out for those that think the CEA card applies to them.

Please note, the CEA card is not issued to carers, the card holder is the disabled person so that they can bring different people as their carer on different occassions.

Hey I was there too!!! Nice to see a fellow MSE'er!!!

Yeah.. I'm a sucker for these kind of movies! I find them highly motivating.. not that I plan to take up that kind of hobby!

The ONLY preview I've been to that was packed was Children of Men, all the rest have been empty, but I think most people have an issue with Sunday mornings!!!

Went to see The History Boys in Wimbledon this morning and it was brilliant. The one hour on the train to get there was totally worth it :j loved it... Don't know why Empire Magazine only gave it three stars

wahey! i was there too! I appeared to be the only one on my own though, and the cinema was only half full (see, ever the optimist!). I also spent my life trying to get there on the district line, and only made it 5 minutes before it started. I didn't think the film was too bad, though 3 stars is about right, maybe 3 1/2 :rotfl:

I just didn't like the approach to the issue, but that's just personal. Overall the filmmaking was good, if a little overbearing and cliche'd, and was the acting good.
