Search Google for "online conveyancing" for a list of the well-known services - most of these seem to work on the basis of having a network of local solicitors that actually do the work, with various bells & whistles thrown in so that you can monitor progress online.
If you really want to save money, forget diy conveyancing and go for diy selling - that is where the *real* savings in agent's fees are to be had.
Consider the options - diy conveyancing - save possible a couple of hundred pounds and risk getting the legalities all wrong.
diy selling - save thousands of pounds in agents fees and no legal risk at all (agents don't provide legal work, it is just a case of marketing and finding a buyer, which you can easily do yourself online) Even the best of the professional sites charge just £100-£150 and online is where buyers are looking for property.0 -
thanks courtjester , I'll try a search. I used an online conveyancer a couple of years ago and they were extremely slow (Maybe things have changed now). Also see my other post on diy selling, I agree this is where the savings are to be made
Cheers

jonny Id be interested to know how you get on with these enquiries as it might be something Ill consider myself
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I think things have improved a lot in the conveyancing sector - a lot of companies jumped on that particular bandwagon and have since faded away as the get-rich-quick set-up-a-website-and-people-will-come merchants realised they actually had to run a proper business and found that took a little more attention to detail.
A couple I have come across regularly (not recommendations as I have not used them) are:
http://www.conveyancing-quote.com
http://www.easier2move.co.uk
The latter particularly seem to be a well-established name and are linked with many reputable partners.0 -
Thanks Courtjester you are a fountain of all knowledge!0
