My reading of it was that she was saying how shocking it was that she was able to be discharged from bankruptcy so quickly, after having owed such a large amount, but maybe I'm in the minority (on this board, anyway).

I just don't see why, assuming the thread was removed for a valid reason, e.g. breaking the rules of this site, that reason wasn't stated at the time of its removal, and still hasn't been.

I was one of a number of people who reported the thread and I assume the Forum Team removed the thread due to complaints. As tine says, the thread was against the ethos of MSE. Advertising, in any manner, is against the rules.

If you read the rules at the top of the board, you'll find that Martin states quite clearly that it is up to the Forum Team and/or Board Guides to remove contentious threads. It is not possible to notify each and every person who posts on such a thread.

As always if you have a problem with such an action email [Removed by Forum Team]

Thanks for the reply Edinburghlass. Although of course we can't check now, I'm sure there was no advertising in the actual posts in that thread, and that it was just Lea's link to her website that was breaking the rules. Once that was removed, I don't see what the problem was - but I'm not asking you to answer this, just making the point.

By the way my original reason for posting on that thread was to ask why someone said the BBC had wasted money by reporting on Lea's property buying and selling successes - I guess I'll never found out what they meant now!

You should know by now that you aren't allowed to say anything on this thread which is even a fraction political/controversial/opinionated.... Even if it is relevant to money and moneysaving.

Dan you must be crazy if you read it as 'Its terrible I was discharged so quickly' maybe you need to flex your 'reading between the lines skills' what she was saying is 'ha ha ha they';ve only given me 6 month discharge and then I can rip people off again!'

Tax machine - did you get a reply from FSA? Was she not registered?

At the end of the day, the moderators have a responsibility to remove threads that they deem unsuitable.

I read the first few posts and could see where it was headed.

Yes well with regards to what she did or didn't mean, I think that would have been a good debate to have.

However I think your final comment is probably libellous.

Kevicho- absolutely, you should know what to expect starting a thread like that! Libellous? Didn't know it was libel to offer a personal interpretation of a comment, but if it causes offence then I am very sorry.

But the original poster said that she'd never heard of this site until a few days ago, so how exactly would she know what to expect from the people here?

Well if you say "then I can rip people off again" then you're implying that she much have already ripped people off. I assume you can prove that?

The FSA don't tend to get back to you to tell you what they're doing, they just go & get on with it. She most definitely isn't registered with them, & having been discharged with a £500K debt she'd have been promptly deregistered if she ever had been.

The FSA take a very dim view on people breaking their rules, & I should imagine, considering her circumstances, that she's going to end up with a fine - which can be for several thousands of £'s (although it's doubtful she'll be able to pay it).
