Compensation from BA

I flew on British Airways from the UK. I ordered a special meal for dietary reasons. It was ordered well in advance. When I received the meal it was frozen solid. I mean, if we had turbulance and it fell off my tray there would have been a hole in the aircraft for sure. So I informed the flight attendant who informed me that there were no other meals. I was really in two minds whether or not to complain to BA, but then I was thinking I paid for something and I didnt get it. If it was a high street shop then I would definitely complain so I guess I should with British Airways. My question really is aimed about anyone who has had a similar problem or anyone who works for BA and can help.
Am I wasting my time asking them for compensation or will they offer some compensation to me? What is their compensation policy in this regard? (if they have one.)

Do you want compensation or just a refund for the cost of the meal that they failed to supply?0

They should at least offer you the price of the in-flight meal back (assuming that you had paid extra for this). However, having flown long haul with BA I found their food to be of very poor standard anyway and made a pact with myself to avoid BA at all costs in the future. Virgin was much better!0

Get over it.
You should count yourself lucky that you couldn't eat it.The Summer Holiday of a Lifetime0 -
Did you not ask them to heat it up again?
Did you really lose anything by not having the meal? I take it not everything on the tray was frozen?
Which cabin were you travelling in?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I am a little surprised that they did not simply apologize and re-heat it for you.
If you were on a long flight, I can see why you want something to eat at some point.
Send a polite complaint to BA customer services. Not sure any great sums of money or vouchers will be coming to you as a result, but if you are a member of their frequent flyer scheme (BA Executive Club) they will probably give you some miles as a goodwill gesture.0 -

Did you ask them to reheat it? Would appreciate more info regarding what happened with your dialogue with the cabin attendant. Did you request to speak to the cabin manager? Were you offered a standard meal (there almost certainly will have been standard meals available, even if your requested meal - which one was it, out of interest? - was unavailable) instead?
The information so far's incomplete and it's difficult to advise with a huge degree of accuracy at this point, I'm afraid.
That said - as you'll have seen and have been required to acknowledge when you ordered the meal - you're not guaranteed to get the meal you request. They'll make every effort, they state, but you've no guarantee - and this is made very clear. You'll therefore have a very tough job getting compo out of BA for your not having your requested meal.
Where was your flight from and to?
(NB: I don't work for BA, but I do work in the industry!)0 -
Everything on my tray was frozen except the roll! Even the water was frozen solid. She said that as it was a special meal it was on top of all the others and thats why it was frozen. It was a Kosher meal that I had order. I dont know why they didnt heat it up and I didnt ask why not. When I spoke to the cabin manager all she did was apologise and inform me that they did not have any more kosher meals on board and that she would give me a comments card to fill out! I was flying from Gatwick to Bermuda.
I'm not expecting huge amounts of money at all, but something as gesture would leave me feeling a bit happier.0 -
I'm sure they'll give you some vouchers or a refund if you paid to have the meal.. it's pretty bad that there wasn't anything to offer you instead.0

Why would it remain frozen merely because it was on the top of all the other meals???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
