Advice Needed Please.....npower

Please can anyone advise me on what I should do??? I had a call from Npower today to inform me that they have been wrongly charging me a cheap Night rate for the electric i use during the day and the expensive day rate for the electric I use during the night. And have been for the last 3 years!! I only get bills once every 6 months and pay whatever they say I have to pay so didnt know anything was wrong. I have never switched so have been a loyal customer at this house and at my last house (we have been here 3 years now). I really cant afford to have a massive bill come through as I have a 3 year old son and I only work part time. I just dont know what to do or where I stand. Can anyone offer me any advice please???

As you would have used more night units than day and have been charged the higher day rate for them I would assume that you would have overpaid rather than underpaid. I assume they are going to recalculate all the bills since the error began. For future ref night rates are always cheaper than day rates!0

Hi as Gary1963 says above it may well work in your favour. As an example my total bill on E7 last year was £1381.27. If the readings were switched (which they were, how common is this?????) then the bill would be £1551.14.
Do you have your bills to hand? if so input your readings the correct way round at http://smartmeter.ukpower.co.uk and you'll get an idea of how the switch has affected you.0 -
Wait and see what materialises. As others have suggested, you may even be entitled to a rebate.
Even if it does mean you end up owing some money, you can usually negotiate with the supplier a repayment plan that is affordable to you."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
