Quick Question about going to Ombudsman

Hi Guys

I started the claiming back process back in September 2009 with Halifax Bank. I got a letter back about the test case and that it'd been put on hold. When I got that I replied claiming hardship. This was ignored and when the test case was won, I got a letter saying my claim had been cancelled.

Now our financial situation has gone from bad to worse and we're sinking. To top it all I'm going through some health issues which means I'm now starting to claim part employment benefit. Credit cards and utility bills are chassing us for arrears. I really think we're going to hit bankruptcy.

So in short, I think we have a justified claim to hardship.

When I got the final rejection letter I shredded everything and gave up. But desperation brought me back here to find out what the after math is. It appears we still may be able to go to the ombudsman.

The questions is, as I've shredded all the old bank statements etc, will I have to go back through the process of obtaining my bank statements and then going through them to add up the charges? Will the ombudsman need to see this info?

I know there are a lot of repetitve thread here, but I'd really appreciate some help.

Many thanks

Tom

Please read my signature page 20 and apply your circumstances to the issue. You do kinda tick some boxes for me on financial hardship.
You need the bank statements unless online banking allows you to go that far back or unless you have kept copies of all letters you have already written to the bank including any income and expenditure forms, proof of arrears etc, etc,
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Ok thanks, I will re-apply for my statements.

I had a look at that list. As I say, I've been off work for 6 months due to a spinal condition and then just after xmas I was rushed in to have a large part of my bowel removed. I'm heading towards permanent disability. So my employer has now reduced my pay and I'm having to claim it back on benefits. That's on top of an already diabolical situation with our current account constantly going over the agreed limit and getting so many charges that we can't get out of the loop. All our utilities are in arrears, etc We applied to go on a 12 month interest free scheme with our mortgage, but that's now lapsed and we simply cannot meet the extra payments.

It's all a bit of a mess and getting our charges back would help us get out of the loop and back on our feet. I don't really know what to do otherwise.

    Cheers
