search.iminent.com

Hi, my daughters home page on IE 7 has defaulted to search.iminent.com. Can anyone let me know what this site is about and can it be trusted?

  • Never heard of it but if you are not entirely sure just change it. Use drop down menu next to Home symbol and click Add or change Homepage

    Don't ask me, Im SKINT
  • I tried that first, but it still returned to the iminent page. It seems to be some form of emoticon programme and mouse pointer image software. So have uninstalled.
  • Had a look and it seems that it is a search engine designed for Instant Messaging. Seems safe enough and was probably selected while downloading something like MSN or AIM. But like I said if you dont want it....Change it.

Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
  • Hi,

    chateauneufdupape.

Paris, France based Iminent offers users a variety of products to enhance the instant messaging experience. The company offers a Windows-only download that enhances the instant messaging experience with extravagant emoticons and video features.

Eh, is there a French connection?
