If its on the road, you need insurance for the whole time its on the road.0

Strictly speaking it does need insurance for the whole time it is parked on the road. But up to you what you do on that score, it may well be the case that it does not get noticed, and make sure you go out there and wash it regularly as this will help to keep the neighbours happy (and not look you up on askmid and then report you)
But if you do just want temp cover you can do an online quote and buy with an insurer who has no cancellation charges in the first 14 days. You will have to get a quote/buy around the 13th - 15th of month to get your cert in time to tax it. Then phone up and cancel and return the cert - simples
Read the policy pdf files on cancellation within 14 days, it doesn't matter which insurer you or price you pay as you will be getting a full refund anyway. all that matters is admin fees charged in the 1st 14 days. Look at Tesco, Nationwide, Directline etc....0 -
Get if off the road while you do it up and then insure it very cheaply just for off road fire and theft. The insurance company will need to be assured that it is immobile and cannot be driven. If you park it on the road then it has to be insured up to the Road Traffic Act minimum.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
