how do you qualify for an nhs excemption card?

You'd get sent one in the post (you don't have to do anything) if you're entitled.

i never got sent one, im on income support and ctc, and get free cancer drugs

i have to show an income support letter at dentist etc
wonder why i havnt a card?

I'm om Income support and just sign the back of prescriptions and put the NI number on the back, re the dentist I took a copy of jobcentre plus letter saying I was on Income support and then now just tick the boxes. x

I'm only guessing re the card, as yu could come off Incomep support at any time whereas if you had a card it might be for 3 years, and that could leave it open to abuse xx

I had the NHS exemption card because my income is low enough to qualify for Child Tax Credit. If I recall correctly, I had to send off my CTC notice to get it first time, and it has always been renewed automatically each year.
