Car Insurance wont pay out!!

A few years ago my husbands car was written off, it was his car registered in his name and so was the finance for it

1st Central have a very poor reputation, there are currently three different threads on the MSE insurance forum about them with many many many people complianing about their customer service and particuarly their claims service.
An easy way is to prove they accept new customers on the same basis, try running quotes through on their website or ringing them (Funnily enough they answer the quote telephone number promptly!)0 -

I suspect the insurance company see this as a form of fronting, ie, having the car insured in an older more experienced persons name to reduce to the premium. Typically this would be done perhaps by teenagers getting their cars insured in their mums name.
I think thats their problem. If you have finance on the car and its in her name, and its registered in her name, and she owns the car, then she should be the primary driver, thus the policyholder.
Insurance companies always take the premiums and ask questions later. Many people have unfortunately fallen foul to this.0
