Renting with Small Pet

I have 3 degus, in a cage about 4ft tall and 2.5ft wide. There like big gerbils and don't ever come out. They don't make a mess and don't contract pests/parasites like dogs and cats such as; fleas, lice etc
Would this be strictly off limits? I thought id ask here before I ask the LL as at the moment im of the opinion that they will not be allowed. Which is ok, im not emotionally attached to them because they treat me like crap but they are not the easiest pet to find a new home for.
Many Thanks

We've rented with pet rats many times ... although we usually call them something else as people react strangely to "rat" ... We have a 6ft tall cage so not something that could be hidden! LLs are usually reasonable. As long as there is no smell/damage then caged pets would usually be easier to accommodate than cats/dogs.0

When we were first renting a few years ago through an estate agent my partner wanted a couple of guinea pigs. They are small, don't smell, don't make any loud noises (not like a dog) or anything. Like Degus they could be the perfect pet for renting, we approached our estate agent that we were renting through and they asked the landlord. A big no!
Anyway, we ended up getting the guinea pigs, every 3 months when we had an inspection we moved everything into the car and hid the other stuff around the house. They never found out although it was a bit of hassle every 3 months :rotfl:
Ask, expect a no, if your prepared to hide them every few months if/when you have an inspection go ahead and move them in anyway. Serves the LL for being so stupidly strict and not understanding if they say no.0
