I cant seem to find an answer for this online anywhere! I'm currently unemployed and have seen a few part time jobs. I wondering if i was to apply for these and get the job would their be anything available to boost my income? My situation is this:
Private rent £115 a week
Partner is pregnant and a full time student
Im 29 and she's 27
Out of work for 4 weeks so far!
Any help will be gratefully received.

Yes you can get a full time job instead of a part time one? More income than only working part time???0

WTC if you work over 30 hours a week I believe.

Nothing for working part time. Surly you would want a full time job to earn more money for the baby that is on its way?
I'd love to have a full time job if one was available, But if i'm only getting offered a part time i don't want to turn it down, I'd prefer to earn less money than benefits than have no job at all!!0 -
I'd go for a p/t time, you never know once you get your foot in the door, it may go f/t.
Indeed, you're also more likely to find work if you are already working. Good luckBe happy, it's the greatest wealth

I would get WTC if i worked over 30 hours a week, It's only 16hours if you have a child.
Partner cant really get a job as most of her classes are during the day. Many employers wouldn't consider taking on a pregnant woman for a few months of work then paying months of maternity leave would they?0 -
You may still get help with your rent and council tax if you are on a low income. Once bubba comes along you will be sortedI cant seem to find an answer for this online anywhere! But she wouldn't be entitled to maternity anyway, so she may stand a chance of gaining work.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

She could give up her studies and get a job after baby is born if you think you would be struggling for money0
