Help ! acer notebook blank screen after boot up

acer one notebook with Linux.
When you start it up,-ACER screen comes up then ASPIRE screen, then comes up a blank black screen with cursor still there.

I had the same problem. Sounds like you need a BIOS update.0

You're on your third screen! Blimey, what do you do with it. I had my BIOS updated under warranty and I run XP on it. I would think you'd have to send it back to Acer. Good Luck.0
