I just asked them to explain how they managed to charge me more interest than they estimated, when in fact I had paid over £300 above the minimum payment? He told me its based on the final outstanding balance, exactly, which is less than it would have been if I had just paid the minimum (which is surely how they make the estimate in the first place?). So I still don't understand.

They had the cheek to point out I make a lot of very small payments, what difference does that make I still paid over £300 extra. I told them my next minimum payment (of £169) would all be in pennies just so I could gain some satisfaction over them!

I know I just have to accept it and there's no point arguing with them as you cant win and the only person to end up in a bad mood over it is me. I just long for the day when I don't have to live my life like this. Still, these little arguments are great for keeping me on the straight and narrow!

could you not transfer balnce to another card or get a loan that is less percent ? forget about them imagine the day you can write teh letter of cancellation bysey bye lloyds and eat this ..l.. thats my hand doing the signal

I wish I could do a balance transfer but my credit is not so good and I can't get any more finance. Which is a blessing in itself really!

I've just started reading your diary and find you very inspirational.

You started out with as much debt as I have now, (I'm only on page 3) and I'm attemtping to clear my Barclaycard off a similar way to you its currently sitting at around £300 so I'm on the hunt for bits of change and am determined to throw everything at it.

Keep going, I can already see you've brought the debt down a great deal so well done! I will post later when I catch up

Thanks for reading, it really does help hearing from others in the same position.

All the extra payments to Barclays really did help to clear the balance quicker, its also good motivation as you don't have to wait a whole month everytime to see the balance come down again!

I cant either which yes would of been a blesing when i was hell bent on blowing cash that i thought i was allowed lol but when you need a little help ie 0% etc they just like to see you suffer lol

Also having a problem with paypal today. I made a payment to someone on 8 June for £19.86 via paypal, I have been waiting for it to leave my bank account (it always goes instantly usually), today I called the company twice who confirm receipt of payment, I also called Natwest twice who advise it has not left and isn't pending!

I therefore emailed paypal who said they took payment from a card ending in the following 4 digits. This is not one of my cards and my paypal is only linked to my Natwest account. Whilst it was very tempting to leave at that and see it as a freebie I am concerned that some equally skint person has paid on my behalf! I have asked paypal to investigate further.

I hate having 'spare' money in my account as I want to pay it off Lloyds, but will have to be patient!
