Help! Running out of time - who do I write to?

I hope someone here can help!
I took out a secured loan on 15th March 2004 and without requesting it was charged PPI. At the time I was so deserate for the loan I just signed. I tried to claim back last year based on the not-requested. But this is where it gets complicated!
The loan was organised through Freedom Finance on behalf of iGroup (part of GE Money). Initially I wrote to GE Money who told me to go to Freedom. So I wrote to Freedom who told me to go to Besoke Finance (formally Karacus) because they processed the application on their behalf. I then wrote to Bespoke who told me Freedom Finance were not regulated by the FSA at the time of the loan (therefore implying I didn't have a leg to stand on) told me that all information was provided for me at the time of the loan and that's what I signed for. I KNOW I wasn't asked for PPI because I remember seeing it and being surprised when I saw it on the loan agreement but at the time, like I said, I needed the money asap.
Anyhow this took nearly 6 months and took me up to summer last year. I have since re-looked at the loan agreement and noticed that the insurance was single and paid up front. The loan was paid off on the sale of my house 11months after the loan was taken out. So I want to write and apply for a refund on the basis of the single option PPI based on information I have on this site but I have less then 3 weeks before the 6 years is up so I want to try and get it to the right company!
Can anyone help?
Thank you so much!!

As you first complained over 6 months ago you would not be able to go to FOS with THAT complaint and also Bespoke are difficult to say the least. They are in GIB and as you could hold a court case here in the UK against them (they are/were not under FOS jurisdiction), you could not send in bailiffs over there to get your money so very risky from what I am aware. Bespoke are untouchable to most.
You can continue to fight with Bespoke (Mr Iian ?? whatever his name is) but personally unless you want a "hard" battle with them I would give up there BUT you can always go the insurer route.
Have you got a copy of the PPI policy to see who the underwriters/insurers were?0 -
Thank you so much for the repky - I have just gone through the documentation I have got and can't see anything about the insurance underwriters but I may have the information in the attic - I have boxes of old paperwork I need to go through!
So if I go for the single insurance option I still have to chase Bespoke and not GE Money / iGroup? I paid off the loan 11 months after I took it out.
So sorry for all the questions but as I'm runnng out of time I really want to get this right! I really do apreciate so much any answers or ideas!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi there
Some of us have had to write to the broker/lender for the policy details as they do say to request for these separately, do write to the lender and ask they send you them through the post for as soon as possible.
Good luck.;)
It is best to try to deal with this within the 6 years, but just as long as you have some information and account number you can still try to reclaim - as many have still been successful with reclaiming as from the 1990's.The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi, I am not telling you "not" to go for Bespoke BUT they are very difficult to deal with and I know of lots on here that have not anywhere after a long time. They did not need to be authorised or regulated (although I think that the sales of Insurance in GIB should have been so maybe complain with proof to the authorities there). Not as though they will do anything but worth a shot just for the record.Thank you so much for the repky - I have just gone through the documentation I have got and can't see anything about the insurance underwriters but I may have the information in the attic - I have boxes of old paperwork I need to go through!

I would if I were you and only had 3 weeks (and with it being so long since you first complained also) make the complaint against the insurer. You need to first get hold a copy of the PPI policy and it should confirm on there who they are. This is what FOS are now looking to do for unregulated brokers and it would come under compulsory jurisdiction.
Your choice but just my view from how others have been treated on here by Bespoke.0
