Replacing kitchen units

Hi
I just need some advice about my kitchen. Currently we have white units with white doors. Would it look strange if I just replaced the doors with say oak coloured doors? Am I best to replace the units too?
Thanks

I'd say it depends what they look like. Mind you, two-tone kitchens seem to be quite popular these days. You see a lot of cream or white mixed with wood.
Here's a white kitchen, but the kickboards are wood. If you imagine the end panels being wood, too, I think that would look fine.
Maybe post a pic of your kitchen and see what people think?0 -
I tried a quick search to find a pic with the other way on - wood doors with white trims, but couldn't find one.
If you did go for that, I'd probably suggest balancing it out with a pale white/cream toned work surface.0 -
If you are worried about the front of the cupboard showing between the new wooden doors, you can get replacement edging on a roll that you could try, you may also need to replace any end panels (especially the wall units either side the hob/ extractor)0

I did similar last year I went from wooden doors to ivory and wanted to just replace doors, but it was actually not much more to do it all I hunted around for months and months. Plus my floor was wooden so it would have clashed It was all the extras like changing my worktops that cost the extra but I will enclose pics to show you. The kitchen I went for actually came with beech plynths end panels etc and cream doors but I wanted all cream but it did work.
Nope couldn't attach pics, but if you pm me I will email them to you.
Good luck:)0
