New combi boiler quote Ideal Esprit 35kw

Hi all

I have been getting different quotes for a combi boiler, but the last one came in at £2000 for an A rated boiler supplied and fitted plus VAT.

However I just got an email from brother-in-law who works in the plumbing industry. He has said that they are having a deal on Ideal Esprit 35kw Includes Std Flue and Clock £425 + VAT, I would obviously get someone to install but I wondered what people thought of this particular boiler? When looking at boilers I haven't came across this one, but any boiler is better than our crap boiler at the moment.

Any advice welcome?

Don't touch anything made by Ideal, unless you have an endless supply of money and want one of their engineers to move into your spare room:eek:

Really? I googled it and couldn't seem to find any really bad reviews, can't seem to access Which at the moment. I did read a review based on the lower KW model and it semed to suggest it breaking down quite often too. Hmmm, disappointing.

Yes, I would avoid Ideal like the plague.

There are plenty of better boilers out there.

Don't forget it's not just the cost of the boiler. And you want the right boiler fitting for your property, and price isn't the only (or shouldn't be) dictating factor.
