Parking fine in mother and baby parking space?

  • Not all of them. I wouldn't. Disability is not a choice. Having a child is.

Does the 'bleat' of someone asking for the legal position re. PPC charges sound like the 'bleat' of a parent complaining that someone's parked in 'their' space?

Who said it was "their" space?
Luckily I'm not that self centred. They're not "my" spaces, I'm happy to park my car anywhere.

I dont need a big space near to the door. If theres one there, i'll use it if not, I cant and as i'm there to shop, i'll park elsewhere.

But think about it. Why do you use them? Is it because you dont see why they should exist? Is it because they are closer to the door and you dont want to walk very far? Is it perhaps because they are wider and you need the extra room to park?

I would have no problem bashing other peoples cars (not that I ever have) if the P and C spaces are full, mostly with non child transporting people and idle white van man who can't be *rsed looking for another spot.

    Are you serious!!??

Quite frankly I'm appalled by the tone & content your statement; that you could actually justify, contemplate, & have no compunction, in causing damage to the vehicles of innocent persons purely on the basis that P&C spaces may not be available for your use, is totally beyond belief!!!

Should this ever occur, I assume you would at least have the decency (& would be *rsed) to leave your details for the benefit of any innocent party, but I do wonder.
  • They should put p&c spaces at the back of the carpark see who cares to argue over them then. i have a 2door sports car and rarely have a problem getting the little one out of the back in a normal parking space. I reckon the parent and child spaces are just for lazy people who want to park bang outside the shop, supermarkets are rarely full to the point you cant find anywhere with enough space to get out but people would rather glare at eachother and act like children themselves just so they haven't got far to walk.
  • Check your supermarket the next time you go (or look at google earth).

How many parent and child spaces are there. Very few.
How many disabled spaces are there? Slightly more.
    How many "normal" spaces. Loads.
Now the 2 supermarkets I normally visit have a lot more spaces just as far from the door as the disabled and parent and child ones.
What these spaces DONT have, is a direct access to a walkway that takes you directly to the front door of the supermarket.
So we can see the point of that for someone in a wheelchair, out car, directly onto a pavement that leads to the store, less chance of a car coming round the bottom of a line of parked cars and knocking them over. As they are seated, they could be obscured from sight
What other members of society would perhaps benefit from this tiny concession that may save their lifes?Out vehicle, onto a pavement. People with no road sense (for whatever reason).
The one that jumps out at me though is children?
Lets be honest. People dont park there without kids/a blue badge because they're lazy or because they cant be fined/can get out of a fine. They dont park there because they see it as others getting preferential treatment.
The only reason they park there is because they dont want their car to be dented by someone who doesnt care enough to tell them they've done it. They think their cars better than yours and that they deserve more room to avoid them getting damaged. When theres no wider spaces left, they'll deliberately take up 2 spaces to prevent you parking at all.
