Hello Campers!
I have a friend who is about to travel to USA and wanted a sim card she could use whilst there to make local calls. She only goes once a year so not sure if it is worth it?
Could look on eBay for any recommended sims
Cheers

Hi Robert,
Have a look at Martin's article Using Mobiles Abroad for starters. Though you may be better off over on the mobiles board.0 -
I purchased a T-Mobile sim from a guy in NY off Ebay. It was pre-activated and loaded with $10. Very easy to top up by going into any cell phone store and if you top up by $100 the minutes don't expire for a year, useful if you go often. You can also top up over the phone using an Amex card. They can't accept Visa or MC if you aren't a US resident.0

Only thing I could suggust is if any of your friend's friends use Cingular, she could buy a Cingular pay as you go chip, they have a plan that debits a dollar a day, then all calls to other Cingular mobiles are free.....The other networks may run a similar system.
Make sure her phone is UNLOCKED though!0 -
