Help! I sent the item to the 'wrong' address

Hello lovely money-savers, i've come across to this board now for some advice hopefully!
I don't sell on ebay all too much (been a member for 4-5 years and have 48 stars, 100% feedback), but basically I had some perfume I recieved for Christmas, I didn't like it so decided to sell it.
Winning bid 28.00 plus 2.00 postage, I went to post it and was in a rush so asked my partner to check the address and write it down for me. Went to post office, posted first class with proof, all done, went back online to tell the bidder it had been dispatched...
Found out they had sent me two addresses. First one was in email from ebay saying 'Congratulations you sold your item yadayada' - This was the one that my partner checked and the address it was sent to. It did say "BUYERS SHIPPING ADDRESS" and that address after it.
Checked my paypal because i've had my account limited following buying something on behalf of a friend that was a large amount... realised there was a different address there.
Emailed the bidder to confirm I had sent it to address 1, get a polite but confused reply saying "I lived there four years ago"...
What do I do?! I asked her if she can pick it up from the other address but apparently this is 30miles away so she said this was not possible.
I am tempted just to refund the seller but obviously this means i've lost out on the perfume
And how do I know the seller isn't going to get her refund and go and pick it up anyway, as it does have her name on it?
Obviously I do not want to get any negative feedback.
Could I please have some advice as to where I stand?
Thank you

i would contact eBay customer support...
One of 2 things:
1, Customer didn’t update ebay postal address when they moved house.
They may have updated PayPal address (Most sellers go by PayPal address, not eBay)
2, eBay may have incorrectly sent you the customers address... i have noticed that eBay has been very glitchy the last few days so its possible.
either way would contact the support team - its not fare that you should miss out because of eBays / buyers mistake.
Did you put a return to address on the package?0 -
Thank you for the advice I will do this.
Yes I did put a return address so hopefully someone honest lives at the house i've sent it to!Professional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

Ebay will say they don't care where you send the package as they don't handle that side of things.
However, paypal, who do handle the claims for dispute will point to their own terms that say only the address that they, paypal, give you in the 'OK to send' box is the one to use.
I never ever check the ebay address, half the time they are old, the only address that matters is the paypal one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you - i've spent so long looking for help from ebay but can't find a contact.
I think i will just refund the seller which is a bummer cause i'm very, very skint right now so was looking forward to getting a bit coming in.
I will just accept the perfume is lost and hope that the person who recieves the package is honest and returns it, this would be a bonus!Professional Photographer with a love of bargain hunting.. Been a moneysavingexpert since 2006 :-D

If you have a good clear returns address on the back you may well be surprised and the person receiving it may well return it.
