So that's only £12.60-odd over 5 days. Or £75 per month. In the middle of a freezing winter. And I assume you are cooking some meals.
Why are you shocked?0 -
Sounds reasonable for an all electric property. Have you got storage heaters, how many, what rating ?0
-
Could you let us know how often and for how long your heater is on each day? (are they storage heaters)
My house is all electric, with storage heaters and during the winter we use around 50-60 units per day, but our house is bigger and there's more people (kids wasting electric on their consoles etc lol!). If you are using eg a 3 bar electric fire, that will use about 3 units per hour on it's own. Also check your immersion water heater, if that's on continuously then it will be costing a lot. Consider putting it on for a couple of hours, or adjusting the thermostat instead.
It's only a game

Thanks for reply.
Our current provider charges approx. 17p/unit. which make the monthly bill more than a hundred.
We used to live in a 2 bed house wit gas heaters and hobs, an the latest bills including gas and ele cost us appro. £50 a month. That's the reason of our suprise when thinking of more than £100 bill in a much smaller accommendation.
Maybe we haven't getting used to the adjustment on electric heaters yet but we don't use a lot of enery and here's more details in last 5 days, 2 heaters with minimum input. 3 laundries, 3 meals cooked, 2 showers & 1 bath.

I'm not sure if it is a storage heater. We let it on for a whole day and the night reading is 20 units for 5 days so I suppose this is for the heater?0

Plus, we didn't use the water heater except for 1 bath (appro. half an hour).
Also we are thinking of switch, any advices will be appreciated.0 -
You have to sort out whether you have storage heating or not. You have to make sure you are on an Economy 7 if you do have storage heaters. You have to take care with cooking if you are on E7.
But if you only used 20 night units over 5 days when you left the heating on day and night then something is wrong.
Are there any neighbours with a similar home whom you can talk to?0 -
The heater has input and output options so it should be a storage heater. There are 2 meters for electric, which should be on an E7. And now I'm trying to talk to some neighbours regarding their electric usage.0
