Can I join in please? Im normally posting over in The Sewing Room as I do quite a bit of sewing but decided to maybe try and get back into card making again too. Used to make cards years ago but was doing alot of rubber stamping and embossing and never quite got the hang of it. Hoping hints and tips from here will help inspire me to do some different stuff! :)

Welcome PootleFlump - OMG I love your user name!!!! Why couldn't I think of something like that???????????

There are lots of digi stamps around now, plenty of freebies too, so you can use stamps but don't have to stamp them IFSYIM - you just save the digis on your computer and print them out when you want them.

I started card making many years ago but drifted away, only got back into it last December but found that styles had changed. I prefer the newer styles, think my old ones were very simple and old hat now!

Mary-op I've arranged for some of our rain to be delivered over your way. You're very welcome to it. We've had no heat here for quite a few days, only rain and wind. Yesterday there were hundreds of guides and brownies (I think) on the beach, must have been having an organised day at the seaside, blimey I felt sorry for them, they must have got drenched but they carried on regardless. I quite admired them. Today has been better, dullish and coolish and just a little bit of sunshine to remind us of what everyone else has been having :rotfl: .

I've blogged a couple of cards now, also updated my garden blog for those who are interested.
  • tomsmum - lovely cards on your blog.

Pootleflump - love your blog I'm now a follower :j

Mary-op - We are also forecast rain this evening and I really don't mind, my garden is in desperate need of it.

Made another visit to the Range today and finally bought my scalloped punch, I'm so pleased, can't wait to get started on the spiders this evening:j I also picked up some lovely stamps, the snowman range, reduced from £7.99 to £1.99, I'm hoping I can create something with them!

Congrats on the wins Wanna-b-rich, very well deserved! Hope you are ok with your hospital visit, you know where we are if you want a chat xxx

We've got back from a chinese with the outlaws for FIL birthday. I decided this morning to make some cakes and take to the restaurant as a surprise. I made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla butter cream icing and silver balls sprinkled on top. They looked the business if I do say so myself ;). My boys made little flags to stick in a couple of the cakes. When the restaurant staff bought out the cakes after we'd eaten our main course, my MIL said 'oh did you make those' I said yes smiling and then she said 'well you could have bought some balloons too'  . I had to bite my tongue blooming hard I tell you ;) She also asked if I used a packet mix. Honestly she thinks I am useless :(

It's still hot here but not quite so bad, please send me some of your rain tomsmom, my garden is looking poorly :(

Flourgirl, those men papers are fab, I may have to get those ;)

Hello to all the newbies to the thread, please stick around, it's a lovely place to be xxx
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain

Thanks everyone! Tomsmum, Will have a look at digistamping - Ive never even heard of it before but it sounds right up my street (I always seemed to stamp squint when doing it by hand!) Craftygirl, thanks for the comment about my blog. Ive just looked at yours and you are sooo talented - cant believe you do jewellery as well! Im following you now too! Im about to try and get into altered art using glass tiles so I can maybe somehow combine that with card making too (not sure how yet but love crafting so much Im happy to try anything!) x

OMG it's me:j, I made the top 3 over at One Stitich at a Time - thanks Padster for the heads up -defo going to get a lottery ticket. Enjoy your crafting, hope your cold clears up soon. x

I just popped on here to give you ladies with DD's and nieces to buy for the heads up. Claire's Accessories have got their 5 items for £5 sale. I managed to get £99.50 worth of stuff for £20, so really pleased - which is more than can be said for DH who wished he'd not offered to take me for a quick trip into town cos I was bored silly sitting at home taking things easy! He should be happy cos DD's party bags are sorted for the grand total of £2.50 a head and she's actually happy with what I've bought and we only went to two shops!!

Marg - I'm feeling fine today thank you, a little sore but pain killers seem to relieve that. Just can't wait to get the next appointment over and done with and hopefully an explanation or solution. Thanks for asking. x

Melissa - don't worry, I wasn't expecting anything, so when I do get it, it'll be a super nice surprise x

Artydoll - your easel card is lovely and I've added you to the list.

Welcome newbies - you have officially joined the only thread on MSE that actively encourages you spend money! Soma I'm now officially stalking you. If any of you others have blogs and I'm not following give us nudge.

    - glad you and DS had a good time in London, it was really unbearable here yesterday, so I don't envy you being in central London with high temps. Also, glad your son is happier about going to his new school.

    MaryOp
    - hope you feel better soon

Rainmac - thank you for your concern and I will remember that. x Nice to see you back on here, I don't recall seeing you posting lately? I suspect that like the others you are snowed under with DT work. I haven't forgotton those other things either just having a few technical glitches with them, but will email them over as soon as they're ready. x

I think that's everyone, sorry if I've missed anyone. x
