tomsmom what an honour to be asked to GDT, even though you dont feel able to it's stiill a fab achievement :)

wifey well done on your walk! hope your back's feeling better soon!

I been to the Docs again this morning and he's agreed that provided I'm still feeling OK for the rest of this week, I can go back to work next Tuesday :j I'm going to put my letter in the post re the redundancy today, it's quite scary but I know deep down I'm doing the right thing for my sanity. Hopefully I'll only have to do until the end of July (HR are going to discuss with the floor manager when is the soonest they can let me go, but theyve already said that they can't see any reason why he would refuse) so not long really and it will be nice to see the people I actually do get on with there for a bit longer before I go.

nice and sunny here again today, going to try and label up all my stuff for the fair today :) I hope some of my jewellery sells as it's not been doing very well online so far, maybe it'll do better when people see it in person perhaps. or maybe it's just a load of rubbish and I should take a hint! :rotfl:

is that the school fair your doing gemma? hope you sell lots
I am ment to be doing one on friday but 1. i can't be bothered (how bad is that) and 2. me and hubby have been together for 10 years on that date so am hoping we either go for a nice meal or at least have a takeaway but he didn't seem keen when i mentioned it. We don't normally celebrate, it just our wedding anniversary but i felt 10 years was important. Don't know if i stall make him a card now or not

I just had a few words with a 4 x 4 man sorry if anyone has got one but they really do think they own the road cos they are big. I had right of way down a long road with lots of cars on the other side but plenty of space for him to pull into while he waited for me to pass but oh no he kept coming and coming until there wasn't any where he could pull into and we were both stuck and couldn't get by each other. He had the cheek to call me a silly cow! so i kept calm and was very polite basicly told him he was an A- hole

I have workmen at the house all week and feel i just can't get on at all. For one thing they keep waking the baby. But i need to do 4 cards for this month sometime.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
Want to be fit for 30 not fat at 30
    but i want never gets!!!

Gemm - good news from the doc. Fingers crossed for you going back to work next week. Don't be scared about your redundancy letter, you know it's for the best.

Louby-lou (Andy Pandy came into mind as I typed that, you're probably not old enough to remember him, Teddy and Louby Lou - I mean the original ones not the modern version.) LOL at you telling the 4 x 4 man what you thought of him. It's amazing how many people don't give any consideration to "rules of the road". It happened to me recently but there was just enough room to pass, he started gesturing to me as if I was in the wrong, I just mutter one of those words that come so easily when I'm behind the wheel - my driving words, something like t*sser I think!

Thankyou all for your Welcomes back :) I have just managed to finish the ironing mountain:) :) Thank goodness for ASDA online too, especially when I had free delivery :) Just couldn't face the supermarket today. I havent done anything crafty or bought any stash for over 3 weeks!! Hopefully by the end of the week I will be back to normal and able to enter some of the challenges.

Gemm it sounds like you are feeling much better than the last time we spoke, and I am really glad you are feeling positive about the decisions you have made. I don't think any job is worth making yourself ill for. I wish you loads of luck for the future and for your craft fair too. xx

Marg my DH's mouth is fine now, he has to go for a root canal filling next week so we are hoping that will be the last of the discomfort. Just hoping he doesn't need a crown too. £££:(

Rusty WOW WOW WOW!!!! such amazing weight loss!! GO girl go!! You really should be so proud of yourself.

TomsMom Congratulations on your win, I fully understand about the DT comittments, it puts me off entering the challenges when the prize is Guest Designer.

Wifey Congratulations on your walk, thats a brilliant acheivement!! Hope your back isn't too painful today xx

Can I add to the chat of PTA.

Our school of 430 pupils manage on about 7 parents max! Often it's mostly me & another mum. Ok I am a SAHM so find it easy to crack on with stuff, I like jobs done not simply 'oh yea I'll look into it' so it appears I am bosy but not intentially.

We normally have a BBQ with disco, bar, bouncy castle etc but this year not doing so due to severe lack of help. Lots of people asking when it is & sad to hear that it isn't on this year but that's what happens when it's left to a few people.

I rarely get to enjoy the events with my children as I'm running about like a headless chicken, winging it at fayres with minimal help.
Even the staff are quite poor & those that do help despair at those that don't. Parents use the 'staff don't help so neither will we' line which is fair enough, it's an opinion I understand. We are always pleaing for help but it's all word of mouth so hopefully friends encourage others to volunteer at events even if we never see them at meetings. We have a few who we can rely on which is great & we always direct a word of appreciation to them in correspondance as we simply would collapse without the very little help that does come forward.

If you want to join I actively encourage you to simply turn up. In all honesty our school funds have rocketed since myself & a few of the newer mums got onboard some 3 years ago.
School disco's are the easiest to organise with a fast profit return. If you need any help let me know.

I should be painting dd's room but gonna put that off now as Ikea tomorrow so making a list, checking it twice but I know i'll buy more than I list, don't we all!

You could be on our school pta as that sounds exactly the same as ours. I have actually advised them that I shall be stepping down at the AGM in November as DS will be in Juniors (different school). DD will be in Reception and I will be happy "to help" but as yet I have never taken the children to a single fete or been able to join in with them at a Family disco and DS has been at the school for 4 years!
