Hi everyone! Sorry to crash your thread! (sure you won't mind as you seem like a friendly bunch)
I'm looking at buying a paper cutting machine and need advice and opinions on the best. I was wondering if those of you who have them could PM me with information so I don't clog up your card making thread. Any information would be useful (size/price/uses/extras/add-on costs etc). I was drawn in by the craft robo but may consider other things if they are better?
Thanks anyway! XNewbie Comper

It's a great price I think and delivery was reasonably quick.
Addams, the BigShot from Capture the Magic doesn't come with any dies, there are offers around such as this one to pay a bit more £ and you get a couple of dies with the machine but I just wanted the machine and then buy dies as and when I see what I like.
Thanks for that. I like the beginners kit and all within the £60 price tag, cant be bad!:jMay - £251.63/£155, June - £108.69/£150, July - £157.45/£155, Aug - £104.28/£155
Sept - £110.80/£150, Make £5 a day in Oct challenge = £50.50/£1550 -
Congratulations to all the lovely ladies who are putting me to shame and are fading away in front of us! It must be all the exercise from diving into the lovely cakes on here. I may have to don a cossie and join in if it works that well :j
Well at craft club this morning would had a good laugh making up a variety of lip gloss mixtures. If anyone fancied trying them I would definitely recommend heating in the microwave until you get it to a pourable consistency. It looks much nicer in the jars if you are able to pour it in and let it set rather than trying to spoon it in.
I think the favourite was still the chocolate although the honey one was nice as well.
Hoping to sit and make labels to go on the little jars tonight but it depends how tired I am. I'm supposed to be helping at Rainbows tonight as well.
I'm very low and emotional today but my favourite ladies at class this morning gave me hugs and I've got my mental health appoint this afternooon so I'll keep on going. I made myself come on here as talking to you all always helps as well.
Hugs to all and I'll come back on later tonight and chat some more with who ever around

Hi everyone!
I just found this thread this morning and it's exactly what I'm looking for, so thought I would say hello! I am just starting out on my card making adventure so excited about the inspiration and tips I can get from you seasoned experts!
I made my first card this weekend, it's for my niece's 10th birthday. Almost ashamed to show it here, having looked at some of the amazing creations from this thread! But I will take my embarrassment and use it as motivation to get better!
Sorry if the picture's a bit big, evidently I'm new at the posting pictures stuff too!! :embarasse
Hope you're all having a good day!

Jo_Rourke, welcome to a great thread
This thread is known to be not great at money saving but we all have a chat and share ideas etc. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I love your card, the different fabrics and textures are fab x
Mel, great idea about challenges, thanks for sharing, I am now following so many blogs I get a bit lost! I haven't looked at blogs all week but will get round to it later in the week x
Kaja, I've been crafting for ages but only just bought a die cutting machine. I went for the Big Shot, very easy to use but obviously can't do the stuff that a Robo can do. Several people on here have the Robo and a couple have the Cricut.
Craftgirl, sorry for tempting you with the Big ShotI was supposed to be waiting for my birthday but I just couldn't
Nici, as Marg said, HUGE hugs from all of us here, it's so good that you are talking about how you feel xxx:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

nici - (hugs) to you.
jo - I love your card bet your neice loves it.
Well I have made a few cards over the weekend and really really pleased with them - reluctant to blog them though - because I know when I do a challenge will come up and I wont be able to enter it!! Not that I win but its s*ds law!!:rotfl:I will get them blogged soon though.
Angela, the lovely lady who did the stamping up session that I went to has kindly invited me round in the morning for a promarkers session so hopefully will get tips for better blending/colouring - yay!! I am going to pick her brains about distressing as well - but I havent told her that yet:D0 -
