I never called anyone a liar .. with respect, get your facts straight.

    QUOTE]

I didn't want to get involved in this & thought the issue had gone, but I just have to say this, the way that you worded your 1st post on here last night did sound as you were calling Rusty a Liar, you probaly should have thought about the way you wanted to be heard before you poseted it. I would have cut & pasted it here for you but it seems to have been removed! Everybody is entitled to an opinion, you just need to use a little more tact next time maybe!
Everybody is lovely on here, you have rubbed them/us up the wrong way, give it time. :)

Anyway, sorry needed to say my bit, hope it comes across ok :) don't want to sound nasty!
Had a great 'non clearing out' day with the kiddies :D but I have found there is one prob with sitting down more...I start browsing the internet! The spending elves came out to play, but not on craft stuff this time but on some new light shades for my front room :) I need 2 so am always looking for a bargin as we are redecorating the front room next. I'm not changing much, more of a freshen up & change the colour on the walls either side of the chimney so thought it would be nice to change them :)
    I've ordered these

:money:I think there a bargin, down to £21 each then theres a code on HDUK for £10 off a £40 spend on Homeware, plus free p&p & not to forget Quidco :D so for both about £30 :j me very happy :j lets just hope they look nice up. I know its alittle off topic but just had to share :D

Best get back to tea, to carry on with my taking it easy day its Pasta Bake..mmm yummy :D

Flourgirl - I've been saving my 'Hug In A Mug' since the NEC & I think tonight is the night I deserve it, a great choc pick me up from the pain :D Thankyou again  x

I have 2 sons with aspergers, and its tough going!! They are both high functioning and yet they still need direction when left in a room together.....they have very little social skills, and reacted to their Dads RTA 5 years ago quite badly......one is 15 the other is 10, I asked the social services for help.as i was running every day to the hospital and the kids (not just the boys) were missing both mum and dad!! Their response.......your not normal circumstances, your kids arent in any danger....that was the best they could do!!

My DH has severe brain injury......and will never ever be the same again, he is doubly incontinent, a full time wheelchair user, and needs supervision 24 hours per day....I had him at home for 18 months and just couldnt cope anymore...social services input....2 carers twice a day for a half hour to get in up and put him back to bed.....(7am then 6pm)...the kids had no life, they couldnt partake in any afterschool activities or join clubs...again i questioned the care plan telling the social workers that they had not considered the children in it........their answer this time....no funds!! Disgraceful!!

(sorry) What im saying is.....I sympathise with you, and you have my utmost respect, well done for fighting!!

  • I have kicked up such a fuss over this - the head of the Adult Disability Social Services has locked horns with the head of this Autism Centre, the ripples are still spreading.

Today, I'm a lot calmer and am thinking a lot more rationally. I have been in an absolute panic thinking that our son has to receive support from these people because they are the supposed experts plus they are the only support service here on the island.

Today I've been looking through coldly, rational eyes - from what I have seen so far I don't rate the support they are offering. There is very poor communication between staff and more importantly I'm worried that the care workers are not trained in HFA / Aspergers eg a couple of weeks back, I sat while a support worker offered my son 4 different choices without allowing adequate take-up / processing time. He just zoned out and took the first option and they weren't even aware of this. When he has visited in the past - he has just been left alone with the other lad with Aspergers. I'm sorry but two lads with Aspergers cannot just automatically communicate - they need support or someone to facilitate interaction. If the care worker does not understand this basic principal wth are they doing working in the field of Autism .

What I'm trying to say, very badly, is I'm starting to question why am I fighting so hard when I am beginning to doubt that he will ever receive expert / appropriate care at this centre. Don't know if I'm being clear at all on this. Eeeeh this is one tough journey.

It must be so amazing for her, I'm really made-up for her, I really am :)

    Hugs, Thriftyxxx

Thrifty, I work, and have worked with children with various learning difficulties, and if I can help you with your situation, I will happily do so off this board.

Has the SENCO (special needs co-ordinator) within the school made any contact with you ?

Does your son have a statement ? If so, how many hours ?

I'm not being nosy, and I'm not prying, but I can guide you in the right direction.

Sadly, in this day and age, schools are becoming more hesitant about not just 'labelling' students, but they are taking into consideration the costs involved in supporting these students in a school environment ie., one-to-one assistants, lunchtime supervision, resources etc. etc..... and the whole process of getting your child their much needed support, is taking longer and longer. The longer the process goes on, the more problems arise with confidence, abilities, social skills etc etc....

As I say, the offer is there, if there is anything I can do to help, please PM me. I might not have the absolute solution, but I might be able to guide you to the right people.

Crafty Ju Ju - no offence taken, and I appreciate your opinion. x

Lol - I must say I keep looking, but have securely locked the spendy elves away:D

Can't wait for DH to get home, so that I can have a play of my nesties. Don't dare attempt to play atm as DS and friend are running riot in the garden (attempting to climb a tree digging in the border amongst other things) and I need to keep an eye on them.

Thank you - i'm sure there are some really nice people here. Some of the people here do already know me, and know I'm not a troll, as they post on UKS where I also post.

Thanks for the warm welcome x
