Forgot to say that I got a pack of design papers in Poundland yesterday 8 x 8 30 sheets, 12 designs. The quality was not bad at all and I used it for my door hangers!!!
Also for anyone wanting some cheapie stamps and bits these have a £1 bit that has some good reductions. Postage is £1.75 but ok if you order some of the stamps that have been reduced from £12 to £1. I've not used them myself so not sure how good their service is!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -

pointofnoreturn wrote: »Thanks! I failed with the shrink plastic at the first hurdle. Tried to stamp an image but it smudged and then the ink bled badly. I wanted to stamp an image then colour with pro markers. I tried Memento ink and Archival on the rough side of the plastic and it bled and on the smooth side the ink wouldn't dry. What inks have you used??? Thanks!!!!
I have used Memento, but you need to leave it over night to dry. Stazon is best and then colour with pencils;) Don't forget the colours become very intense once shrunk. I've also used acrylic paint once the item has been shrunk.
Also if your using the oven you will get a better result with the shrinking than with the heat gun.0 -

I've used Crafty Devils before and they're service was great HTH.
Was gonna order myself some new plastic storage drawers today but have rearranged some stuff to make some more room for my card order - what's the bet it arrives tomorrow when I'm at work and OH is here
Have now stored a load of my stamps in a CD box stuck on empty CD casesOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Evening everyone!!! Sorry I haven't been about for a bit- we've been taking the kids out most days and then at night I've been giving them the laptop so they can watch their dvds. I haven't got a clue what's been going on on here so apologies for not commenting, I'll try to read back but I'm not sure how well I'll do!
Mum took me to a card shop this morning in town - it was huge - really surprised as our town is quite small. I didn't really buy anything though because everything is so much cheaper online - it was nice just to look at things though!
Back home tomorrow - the kids have had a great time - I've been a bit stressed because they've been fighting a lot and I can't really send them to their room here!!0 -
Izzywizzy/ Jill_b29 - welcome to the thread!!!!
Pointofnoreturn - your doorhangers are fab - my favourite is the giraffe one!!!
Artydoll - gorgeous cards - I love how you've threaded the ribbon on the second one!!!
Irlrip - your card is fabulous - glad to have helped to get you started!!
Kms26 - we did a secret santa type thing over on "the crafty place" last year that I organised - we set a minimum spend of £10. I drew the names of the swapees and let everyone know who their partner was so that they could tailor the present to them. I enjoyed doing it - it was lovely to get a surprise on xmas morning. I'll happily do another one again!
ScattyJan - hope you get your move sorted soon!
Jazabelle - so sorry to hear about your claim.0 -
 OK this is just a quick one to get everyone thinking, before the forum closes for an hour. You may think it is silly, but what do you think about us having a Secret Santa on here? I thought maybe we could have a small budget of maybe £5, it wouldn't nessacarily have to be anything brought, it could be homemade or even some of your stash.
Let me know if you think it is a silly idea
I'd be interested!I love my new "Woodware Trimmer" it arrived yesterday so thanks to Jazabelle.
Hopefully this is the first of many.
Yay! So glad you like it.pointofnoreturn wrote: »Jazabelle - sorry to hear that you were unsuccessful in your claim. It's really not fair how they decide who can and can't have a benefit. When I worked for the local council issuing bus passes, there were many people eligible because they were on high rate mobility. The thing was though that some of the ones that we used to get coming in walked perfectly ok and one fella actually ran up the road after he had handed in his application. I heard of people that had lost a limb being refused DLA, unbelievable. Keep trying and like everyone else has said take it further. The most important thing is not to let it get you down but make you more determined.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm grateful that I do have a Blue Badge, and a bus pass. I don't use the bus pass because I don't have enough mobility to use buses, but sometimes it's handy to have something to show as a disabled ID when it's occationally needed.
It's very frustrating to hear stories like that. I don't understand how some people get it, when others are put through hell.
The thing is, it's my second tribunal, so I've taken it hard. It would have made a huge difference in my life, and enabled me to try a few new treatments I'd like to, but haven't had the money to.
Yes, an ex-soldier whose leg was blown off just got turned down for a blue badge."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0
