Although shoes often save a jeans focused outfit from samey-ness :)

I nipped out to the shops today and, in my outfit that style forgot I spent sometime looking at other people. Without doubt the moost stylish women about were middle aged, some late middle aged. The woman in fromt of me at the till I would guess was mid fifties, and she looked SO great. She wasn't too thin, about a size 14 I'd have guessed, but she'd dressed well to flatter herself, a beautifully cut long tweed skirt with a frayed hem...the length and finish taking a fabric that might have been a littl dowdy cut in another way. Minimal jewelery, but it was there, immaculate, immaculately cut and styled salt and pepper hair, and a beautiful dark but soft lipstick, almost a mauvey plum. She looked ''age appropriate'' but obviously with an interest in style and fabric and quality. I hope I dress well as I get older. The bonus is, I guess, that often you have more spending money, which helps with making really good purchases!

  • hehe, i like the giant ant :p

I'm having a hoody and jeans essay writing day today. Might get changed to go to the pub later if i feel like going out. We went round to a friends house to watch the watchmen directors cut on blue ray last night. It's a great film (i think i've seen it 4 times now) but LONG. The directors cut is half an hour longer too so it's over 3 hours and made me extremely sleepy!

Daisy you should get post soon because the post office finally let me in. It's a green envelope so it's easy to spot :)

I totally missed the ant and then scared myself when I went back to look for it, hahaha.

Char - do you have any photos of you wearing jeans or trousers? I can't imagine you in them!

Hi everyone! Well I'm just about to pop out now, and I'm wearing this... Hope that link works - I chopped my head off to maintain anonymity but it's just as well because I was pulling an awful face!

I stuck with a monochrome feel but it's very un-me to be wearing a skirt at this time of day! I tried to casualise it with the slouchy cardi, but I'm a bit scared as its windy out there!
    xx
