Girls, we've got to stop talking about what we don't like eating...i tried so hard to hang on to porridge this morning...I think the metformin might have made me queasy, then all this talkabout food we don't like...it was a losing battle!

I LIKE cake, think about cake everybody...yum yum!

I'm going to get my self turning incubator later I think (Tara that means it turns the eggs for you, which I need with my memory) and I have no idea what I will wear...

    CAKE
I fancy making a cake today but have no reason to :(

PF, do you eat breakfast cereals, most have added iron, Bran Flakes are good. Also dried fruit and pulses have a good amount of iron. I was really into making sure I didn't become anemic while pregnant so munched my way through a LOT of dried fruit!
Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron but tea prevents it so if you have a small glass of OJ for example with a meal it will be more efficient.
As I have such a bad needle phobia I try to be as fit and well as possible as a preventative measure so I am quite obsessive about it!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Iron is one of the few supplements that I really feel the difference from. HAving suffered mild anaemia, I take my doctor's advise and take it at least around menstruation and when I remember through the month. The difference it makes is astounding. I take a brand called Feregrad C, recommended by the private GP, because it has the vit c in it inthe correct proportion.

I haven't been eating breakfast cereals for ages, mainly due to the lack of food shopping and therefore any yogurt in the fridge to have with it..but when i do i have bran flakes, with sultanas on..must start making sure i eat that again..

and the OJ rule has been drummed into me by the docs from being about 13 lol..

i love dried apricots, one of my fave snacks..will get some later :)

Totally agree on the iron supplement front, it has made such a difference.

I'm hoping to get some bargains at the greengrocer today, our local one is excellent, always cheap. Hopefully will get spinach, and some soft fruits of some kind...and maybe a small avacado if they have one, because I feel like a challenge :)

I quite like munching on bran flakes (or Aldi version) as a snack without milk for a crunchy fix.

and i used to have to take the most hideous "liquid metal" medicine ever..all through school, which was a nightmare when they brought in the rule about kids leaving medicines at reception to be dispensed in the presence of staff :( twice a day i had to trek up there! lol

oh i brought an avocado to work, but not in a sandwich, just as snack form, becuase the fatal flaw in my sandwich plan was the fact i had no bread lol

DB, why not try making some guacamole and dip veggies into it,
I like it with lime juice, chilli, salt, and some chopped tomatos, some spring onions and corriander are good in it too. Sometimes I mix a little sour cream or youghut on to make it a little sloppier. Very tasty.

I was thinking of a dip, or maybe mashed on crackers. I really do quite fancy it now and I may as well try and eat nice food before I get stuck with the hospital slop for a while :p
