(((Lost))) that's such sad news.
When I had my youngest daughter my ex MIL thought I was a really bad mum because I breast fed, she said I should have given her proper baby milk which was good for her. Of course I didn't listen and only gave up after a few weeks when my milk dried up, I was completely exhausted from single-handedly looking after a family of five after a caesar and sterilization, I also had to clean the house from top to bottom every day without fail. Looking back I can't believe I lasted ten years with such a bully! Her attitude towards breastfeeding still makes me laugh now.
An uninspired outfit today -
black/multi dress (Joe Browns)
black diamond opaques
black faux suede knee boots (Primark)
black cardi coat and purple leather gloves when I went out
have a good Friday evening everyone!0 -
retro, don't worry, I know you're not having a go. xx
I think it's pretty stupid too, I'd have jumped at the chance to feed all 3 of mine as long as I possibly could. One was fed up to a year (started biting, ouch!). Middle one couldn't take to breast despite trying for 3 days, she does have an odd shaped palette though so maybe that had something to do with it? Last one was fed up to 9 months, again the biting was an issue !
I can't see why it's become such a taboo thing to do in public, it certainly wasn't 20 years ago. I can remember my mum wapping her boobies out on the bus ! No one batted an eyelid !:jWeight loss to date 1st 11.5lb :j0 -
Lost - interesting point, no I didn't suggest a counter limit, I can tell you have a legal background!
I'm not sure what my personal opinion is about a suitable limit and I definitly don't think it's my place to say.
When I held my newborn in my arms, I just hoped to breastfeed him, to play things by ear, I certainly didn't think i'd be feeding at 1 year, let alone 2, but day by day my baby grew a tiny bit bigger and he's now a considerable sized 2 year old, but he didn't grow that big overnight, he'll always be my baby.
My current way of thinking is "never offer" (I gave up "never refuse" as there are often (for me) inappropriate demands) As long as I'm happy and he's happy we'll keep going and assess the situation on a regular basis to check we're all OK.
Have calmed down now we've had a yummy veggie curry - forget breastmilk, a good curry really does sort everything out!0 -
Vicki- I totally know what you mean. I only started out with the aim of feeding H up to six weeks, then 3 months and now he's four months and I can't imagine stopping. Having said that, I know I won't still be feeding when he's five so I guess there will come an end point.
Today's outfit was wrecked by a vomiting (breastfed) baby, but was:
Brown three quarter length trousers, Primark
Brown stripy vest, H&M
Brown cotton cardi, H&M
Opaque tights
Ballet pumps:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Hope you don't mind me dragging you back to fashion chat but I need help
I need to design a capsule wardrobe for my honeymoon and need some ideas.
I am currently on celebrity slim and am aiming to hit a size 14 by the time I go away - I'm currently the top of the size 16 band.
I read that I should choose 3 colours but i'm away for 3 weeks so have chosen 4 colours instead. My fav colour of the moment as main-Red, white, black/navy and accents of teal. Bare in mind I am black - skin tone somewhere around beyonce!
I've never put a wardrobe together before but I really want a "look" for the honeymoon - not very mse I know, but the bits I get will be the basis for my new size 14 wardrobe!
so heres what I have so far for a need list
red
Sundress, skirt, cardigan, linen trousers, t shirt, jewellery, hair clips etc, handbag, going out top, large belt, pashmina, top/shirt
White
Suit, Skirt, cardigan, trousers, t shirt, silver jewellery, shorts , trainers
Teal
Sundress, Swimsuits(2), shorts, top/shirt, jewellery, hair clips , go out top, large belt, pashmina
Navy/Black
jacket, jeans, t shirt , dress (well grey)
Will this be enough?
Will this work?
do I need to get more of a certain colour?
Can anyone make any suggestions of anything extra to add?
I have about £500 to spend and have a few pieces already (about 5) and will mainly be looking at supermarket chic but suggestions are really welcomeHad a thrifty wedding 17-06-10

svjenni,
How exciting, the girls here love a challenge!
When's the wedding - and most important where is your honeymoon. I love travel but family and funding have really put a spanner in the works so I love hearing about other's plans (and fight back the jealousy somehow!)
Your colour choice sound really workable and such a good idea.
I would suggest grey as a really versatile colour to get a few basics in although I don't know how that works with your skintone, although from your description it sounds as if anything would look great, what a lovely colour to be!
Although I try to embrace the pale and interesting look I can't help be envious of others with darker skin.0 -

Congrutlations? when are you going and where (where you go will have huge impact on what you should take) Do you plan sight seeing (remember you need from around the knee t the upper arm covered at least in most ''religious'' places, like beautiful churches).
for a honeymoon its worth treating you and your husbandto some nice kniskers and a negligee.
