Check on Economy 7 usage

I have just changed from my current fixed tariff with E.ON to their FixOnline6.
One thing I checked was my Economy 7 usage over the last couple of years and I found that we were using insufficient electricity overnight to justify using it.
By excluding Economy 7 from the new package, I estimate I will be saving over £200 per year.
If you are already with E.ON which you cannot exclude Economy 7 online; you need to contact the company direct.

But check first that this is the best course of action for you. There is a lot of anti E7 propaganda out there, but if you have electric heating then it is probably going to be cheaper for you to keep the E7!0

Hi davidxhobbs,
Generally, customers who heat their homes with electricity are the ones that will benefit from an economy 7 tariff, however this is not always the case so it is best to do the sums.
You can always contact E.ON to do this for you and give you a comparison.
E.ON don't need to change the meter if you would like to change from economy 7 to one rate prices. But you will still need to provide both the day and night reads.
Glad you have made a saving davidxhobbs

Make sure your timeswitch is switching over to the cheap rate at the correct time - they often are wrong. This may affect the bill adversely (although often in your favour!). If the timeswitch is more than two hours wrong, your supplier should arrange to either repair or replace it if you let them know0

Also check your bills.
Just had a scottishpower annual bill, and what do you know the units have switched over since my last bill so I now owe them £666.55!
I was £46 in credit at 31 jan, so what they have done since then is a mystery!
Not impressed at my storage heaters now costing 10p per unit!Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0
