Hello
On a bit of a budget since splitting with my partner and car could do with a service, just an interim one. It's a 7 year old Peugeot 206 estate, not giving me any trouble but think I should get oil changed etc.
Most independents are quoting around £90 but then I saw www.carservicecentres.co.uk and they are the same price but sound really good, includes collection and drop off and quite a thorough service.
Anyone used this service and how did they find it?
Thanks

Its nothing more than an oil and filter change and a few fluid top ups. Places like Kwik Fit would do that on the spot for £25.
A small independent will charge the same but there idea of a service will be far more comprehensive and concentrate on what matters rather than some faded paint or dirt inside.0 -
thank you, I will have a look at kwik fit - I use them for tyres sometimes and they always seem reliable.0

I think you misunderstood me. I am not suggesting you use Kwik Fit for a service. Just that what is being offered is not even a basic service and can be done in half an hour at a drive in place.
Take it to a local mechanic. They will be far more thorough. Yes it might not be shiny after but they are far more likely to help you car survive that bit longer.0 -
i put in details for a 206 interim service £129.95
use an indy or a mobile mechanic circa £600 -

What a load of rubbish! I've just been on Kwik Fit's website and the cheapest Kwik Fit service is £79 for the same service checks - and that doesn't include collection and delivery.
Why don't you save your know-nothing "advice" for the pub?0 -
The annilator or whatever you are called - you obviously dont know jack about anything usefull !- by the look of the car service centres website you get the car picked up, service carried out, washed and delivered back to you not to mention the service is done by a qualified Manufacturer trained Technician plus the service book stamped - this looks like great service for the price and you definately wouldnt get that kind of service from Kwik Fit.

What the Anihilator is suggesting is that the service at that garage basically only includes an Oil and Filter change! This was the same when my car came to its 46k service, my local suzuki dealer wanted £180 for the oil and filter change and lots of other "checks", battery, leads etc. Simple stuff that you can do yourself.
I did exactly what he suggested and went to kwik fit, got them to do an Oil and Filter service for me which was £29.95, i changed the air filter myself. Total cost: £39.97, saving me £140.03. Don't give me the bull that they used poor quality filters and oil. I had a new Fram oil filter and castrol oil in the car. The car still has a service history but not dealer! Just kept all my receipts.0 -

I think you'll find that you can't promote your own business on here :cool:0 -

Rather take it to a mechanic that can still stamp the service book rather than a "technician" trained by the dealer or otherwise.
And believe me, the guys not recommending Kwik-Fit.0 -
one question to did kwik fit use the correct oil grade as i imagine for £30 you get boggo 10/40 castrol magnatec
castrol fully synthetic is around £30 for 5litres0
