My finances are fine thank you v much.

Besides, we're off to Vegas in a couple of years, perhaps you'd be kind enough to recommend me a hotel. :)
feel free to ask.... ive stayed in most of them.
For location and price id go Imperial Palace.
But the best so far has been MGM. We have had both the celebrity spa suite and the bungalow suites.
Flamingo is pretty good and clean but if you have kids try the Excalibur.

Oh, and dont book a package. Flights and hotel booked seperate is the way to go. Strip hotels are like 2 mile from the airport.
  • Thanks for that, I fancy flying Virgin as well you know really push the boat out a bit.

What sort of things can we do out there apart from the roulette tables? :)
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)

Could we stay on-topic please troops??? I'm sure there will be a chattier thread for debates about benefits and another for holiday tips!

We are here to help the OP - the answer is very simple and has been mentioned above by one and then negated by another.

TELL your housing benefit office if you want to avoid problems down the line. If you fail to do so and you are not on JSA (IB) you could easily get away with it and no harm be done, but it is best not to risk it.

If you are on JSA (IB) and you have a signing date when you are away, then you will miss said date and the Jobcentre will inform your local authority that your JSA has ceased, which will mean they will suspend your Housing and Council Tax benefit. You will then have a month in which to tell them about a change in your circumstances (albeit this change is only temporary).

The rule allows for you to be temporarily absent from your home for anything up to 13 weeks but as your income may have changed, the office still needs to be informed.

I would always contact the office as we have a lot of cases where post comes back as Address Gone Away and we suspend the claim only to find that the customer has been on holiday.
As most councils have e-mail addresses, you can just e-mail them to make them aware

Why in heavens name would post be returned if a person is on holiday? The postman puts it through the letterbox as usual.
    It's someone else's fault.
