Dependant's job in Germany

Hi all,
So, I'm off to Germany around August time and though I'm very excited and looking forward to it, I'm also trying to prepare myself regarding jobs etc. As this is our first overseas posting, I don't know what to expect apart from hearing good things about it from other wives, I'm a bit worried that I'll be left with nothing to do..which I can't complain but knowing myself, I will be bored in no time.
I know many other wives have families or young children to look after while they were out there and tend to keep themselves busy with other mum and tots groups etc, I don't have kids and don't want kids so I've been working full time here in the UK. I know that there maybe dependant's jobs in the base like admin or reception work which I'll be interested in but slight problem is that we've 2 dogs and we heard that we might be getting a house around 30mins drive from the base, so that means my hubby can no longer pop in to see them at lunch time, so if I work full time there, dogs will be left for the whole day which is not possible. So, unless there are plenty of part time vacancies, it won't work out. Besides, after working full time for so long I also want more time off to enjoy life abroad and spend more time with my doggies.
So, I'm just wondering if anyone have similar expereince in finding work in Germany or can suggest any at home jobs that can generate a small income? I'm not after big money, just some extra pocket money.

Pop in to your local Labour Department when you get there and they will get you sorted out in no time at all. You'll find that there are plenty of part time jobs on the go so you wont be restricted to working full time. A list of current vacancies appears at the link below. Enjoy your tour!!

Thanks for that! I had a look already but where we will be didn't have many part time vacancies at the moment but since it's still a while yet till we're there, I hope something else will come up when I arrive!
Thanks again!Pinklover xx0 -
You'll also find many vacancies advertised in the hard copy of this paper. Might be worth your while trying to get a copy to give you an idea of what else might be available. People are posted in and out on a regular basis so jobs come up frequently.

Sorry Hughsey! I've come on here for a little while!! Yes, we'll be going to Paderborn but could now be delayed which is a shame as they just allocated us a house which is walking distance to town centre..ideal for shoppings etc! So, now the choice is either I move there on my own
with my two doggies first around end of July to get the house first and my hubby will join us end of Sept!! Though I've been to Germany before, living in a new city on my own will be difficult!! or I'll just wait for him and move together end of Sept and get allocate possibily other houses..
I'm sure you'll enjoy your 1st posting! I just felt a little different as we're the only couple without children and also working full time makes it difficult to fit in with the others but everyone has been friendly and helpful!Pinklover xx0
