Is it best to have a new kitchen fitted by the builder as part of the overall kitchen refurb, or have it fitted by the kitchen maker?
If the builder fitted it, there will be continuity in terms of the project and any subsequent problems with plumbing etc can be rectified after the units are installed. However, they could botch it up...potentially!
If fitted by the kitchen maker (small company - for a price similar to that quoted by the builder), any problems, further orders etc can be dealt with straight away as they are familiar with their product. However, if any subseqent problems arose with plumbing, the builder would have to be recalled.
I suppose its all swings and roundabouts...but any views?

Your builoder may be a good builder but is he a good kitchen fitter. A ceap kitchen can look like a top rangve kitchen if fitted by a good fitter. A good kitchen can look like a dogs dinner if fitted by someone who is not competent. I would get the kitchen company to do it. Just ensure you demark wher the builders plumbing etc ends and the kitchen fitters starts, so you know who to call back if there is a problem.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

go with the kitchen fitter. Ive had to do a lot of remidial work from kitchens fitted by builders. The new extentions they are fitted normally look pretty good but a lot of builders cant fit a kitchen. Also if the kitchen fitters are doing all the plumbing it will have their gurantee0
