One day - something nice is gonna happen to you two - goodness knows how you will cope.

As long as I don't get run over by some fool in a Fiat 500, I will not worry too much.:)

C'mon Hintza, you of all people know that you can buy a Panda for far less money and it is a far better car.

That is of course if you really must buy a Fiat.:D

Yes I do like the Panda and if the 500's weren't silly money I would probably get one it in a jiff y (2 doors is the downside though).

I remember when we were very young and even sillier we got hold of an old Fiat 500 and drove it around the pavements (not on the road was our argument if we got stopped) with the drivers seat dragging along the deck (floor rusted through).

Also one of the biggest jokes at the time was we heard someone had got their leg over in one and we all marvelled at how that would be possible. We reckoned the sun roof was invaluable.

Oh dear going all misty eyed now.......:)

Exactly, you can get a 5 door Panda for loads less money than a 500, Fiat are 'avving a laugh at the punters buying these things.

    I still love it though.

But isn't that the great thing about folk, imagine if we all fancied the same people in life most of you ugly souls would still be on the shelf.....:)

Same with cars all in the eye of the beholder.

To a point. If you sit in the 500 and in the Panda, there is a difference in materials and quality, the Panda being more 'spartan' and basic in a way. You notice that the Panda is boomy too.

In essence the 500 has become a cheap Mini and I would think have influenced Mini introducing the Mini First range because they were worried over the 500 nicking sales due to price disparity.

I don't get the whole Fiat having a laugh at punters- it is easy to see why it would be a bit more than a Panda, you pay for all the nice bodyshape and intricate features. If Fiat are having a laugh and it is over priced what does that say for the idenkit Ford Ka which is more expensive than the 500! If people like them and are willing to pay the extra over the Panda then why not? Market forces will decide if it is worth it and it seems plenty of folk are happy with it and that is all that matters not what us car folk think.

I like the Panda and the 500, but not sure a 500 is a blokes car- all girls cutting around in them :o.

I would have a bet that the profit margin on a 500 is at least 3 times that of a Panda.

Oh well, as you suggest, to each his, or in this case, probably her own.:)
