Car Warranty
Hi,
I have recently had some poblems with my car (rattles whirring etc)
My car is
51 / 2002 Peugout 307 1.4 LX it done 59000
So i put my car in to my local garge to have a look, they have told me that my drive shaft and anti-roll bar link are faulty and need replaced.
I bought this car only 6 month ago (with 54000) and the indipendent dealer gave me a 1 year warranty on purchase (warrenty is with Scot Trust - or Car Care Plan (in england))
According to the 'What Covered' documentation i'm coved for
"Failure of the drive shafts, universal joint and C/V Joints"
There is no mention of the anti roll bar links only
"The internal failure of the anti-roll bar, anti roll bar bushes, coil springs and self leveling units"
My only worry is that they will use the wear and tear get out - can they do this?
I also have evidence that the drive shaft was on its way out when i bought the car,
I have just checked the motinfo . gov . uk site and i have noticed the when i got the car, the dealer gave it a mot - what he failed to tell me was that there was an advisory notice issued for "Driveshaft oil seal leaking"
Where do i stand??

Have you contacted them yet?0

Both are quite clearly wear and tear parts and acceptable wear on a 8 year old car.
No doubt someone will be along shortly to misquote the SOGA to you though.0 -
I doubt the driveshaft is a wear and tear item, not sure about roll bar that might be.0

What's the point of having a warranty on the car them?0 -
to replace items that expire prematurely due to a fault or major incident not related to general wear and tear consumables.
For example windscreen wipers wear and tear, wheels shouldnt fall off though. the former wouldnt be covered, the latter would.
Most warrranties are scattered with exclusions on older cars.0
