Hi,
new experience for me, got some new virgin plasterboard & skimmed walls to decorate (simple paint.)
Feels pretty smooth but any advice? is it usual to say, go over with finishing sandpaper first or something? whats the best prep for a decent silk paint finish.
Thanks.

You shouldnt need to touch it with sandpaper if its been well plastered, water down first coat of emulsion to a ratio of about 3 or 4 parts paint to one part water. This waill prime the walls then apply probably another two parts. Make sure your plaster is completely dry before you start.0

As said thin the paint about 25% but it is a very bad idea to use silk on new plaster as it tends not to adhere as well as matt.I would use matt for now and next decoration it will be ok to use silk0
