Animation Software.

Does anyone kno wof any free, easy to use software that can be used to produce basic stop motion animation that will run on Windows 7?

The kids love messing about making movies but they're now trying to do animations with Lego by taking lots of pictures. However when you import it into Windows Live Movie Maker the minimum time you can display a picture for is one second. Obviously 1 FPS makes for very jerky animation.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

  • Pretty sure you can make animations from multiple stills in Windows Movie maker. UnFreez works too, but outputs to GIFs rather than videos.

    Microsoft gif animator
Its free, makes animated gifs, If I recall you can set the frame rate, if not there are many other free gif animators that allow it.

Its gif only output, but ideal for small stop motion animation, no big learning curves.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,

You can but I can't see a way to get the framerate below 1 FPS.

Thanks for the suggestions I hadn't thought about using GIFs.
