Alton Towers booking tips
HERE'S how to get your FREE pair of tickets to the Alton Towers Theme Park, worth £76!

Five steps to a successful application

STEP ONE: Collect SEVEN differently numbered tokens from the eleven that we'll be printing in The Sun.

The first token was printed on Saturday February 27. (not sure why it states was - the first token should be printed on Sat 27 Feb)

Applications without the correct number of tokens will be void.

STEP TWO: Complete all sections of the application form after reading the offer terms and conditions.

You MUST choose 5 date bands from the 11 provided, in your order of preference, in the spaces provided on the ticket application form.

Applications that do not have the 5 bands indicated in order of preference will be processed last.

We will of course do our utmost to allocate tickets from your preferred band.

PLEASE NOTE: YOUR TICKETS WILL BE VALID FOR ONE SPECIFIC DAY FROM YOUR CHOSEN BAND and are not transferrable. We regret that we cannot meet specific date requests from within selected bands.

STEP THREE: You MUST Include a self addressed envelope at least 15cm x 8cm with a 1st class stamp attached . Applications that do not include an SAE will not be processed.

STEP FOUR: You MUST write your 5 date band choices (in order of preference), on the bottom right hand corner of the envelope you send your application in (not your SAE).

STEP FIVE: Send your completed ticket application form, with SEVEN differently numbered tokens attached, together with your SAE to the address on the form.

Allow 28 days to receive your tickets - although tickets for band A will be despatched as priority.

Last date for receiving applications is Wednesday March 17 and we cannot process applications received after that date. In the unlikely event that we are unable to allocate tickets for any of your five chosen preferences, we will contact you with an equivalent alternative.

Good luck everybody! It is a total lottery & there is absolutely no guarantee of getting a particular date.

In fact last year, despite sending in our application as soon as it was physically possible to do so, we were allocated dates that bore NO resemblance to ANY of our requests.

As we have no flexibility in our leave of absence this meant the tickets were wasted.

I have been waiting for this offer to come back, got some good dates last year - even though it rained on the day !!!
The only thing is though, last year you could get up to 2 child tickets as well for £10 each, but i have not seen anything about it this time. Does anyone know if this will be the same this year ?
  • thank you soo much for posting this sarahlucy. me and my boyfriend made a weekend of it last year. went to alton towers on saturday then drove to blackpool and had til sunday there.

cannot wait to put the fear of life into my boyfriend to let him know that hopefully we can do it all again.

the sheer terror on his face in our 'rita' picture will forever tickle me senseless and give him a reminder of 'what doesn't look soo bad', quite often is!!!

It does mean one has to buy a copy of the sun, which is a bit of downer.

Does anyone know how you would go about swapping tickets if the ones you get aren't suitable? I don't think you're allowed to swap them on here?

Last year people were putting the dates they had on here to see if anybody wanted to swap. I personally bought the dates I wanted (my son's bday)off ebay and sold the dates I had!!
