    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

    Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

    Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

    Whilst i agree that putting money aside is a good plan (and i did that) it can be quite frustrating arguing with someone in "india" that sending a bill to:-

    Plot 85
    <town name>

    is never ever going to get to me and can they please correct the address (new build).

    i did get a bill from them after i transfered to someone else over a year later (as this seemed like the only way i could ever get it resolved).

    Plenty of people on the estate didn't get an energy bill for years after trying to get it sorted out and just giving up.

    Many subsequently moved having had a free ride for years...
    Sometimes the energy companies are their own worst enemies too.

    Sorry if anyone feels this is out of order but I am seeing more and more threads on here about people not being billed by their utility providers for a number of years for one reason or another, and then asking "do I need to pay my bill" or "eek please help they want £XXXX from me for gas used etc. How can anyone be this dense! You used the power/gas/water, now you pay the bill. What did you think would happen? The nice men from the gas board would say "oh dont worry about it, you have all that heat and light on us". If you don't get a bill, OBVIOUSLY they will eventually want paying for what you've consumed! Honestly, it riles me, those who try and get out of paying their energy bills are slapping the costs onto those who do pay, if you chance your arm on getting away with not paying, don't be shocked when you get the mother of all bills!

    Perhaps a lot of newcomers are confusing this site with another one of a similar name?
